$163 Million US Mega Millions Jackpot, December 18, 2007
Started the group on December 15, 2007. The cost per share is $1 CDN and there is no limit on the number of shares. Below is the list of members and the number of shares per member. After the draw, all winnings will either be paid to the members or carried forward to the next draw. It will depend upon how much we win and if the jackpot rolls. This group will be combined with a US group and all prizes are shared. The US group organizer is responsible for buying all the tickets. A copy of the number played will be emailed to all members before the draw.
Our group was combined with 2 US based groups. Together a total of 134 tickets were purchased. We won $0.22 as per our 22% share of the GLC's regular pool and $6.17 as per our 61.79% share of the GLC's flex pool. Our total win was $6.39. The jackpot was won - 2 winning tickets. Will hold the money until the next large jackpot.
$179 Million US Mega Millions Jackpot, February 15, 2008
This group is spending $7 US and combining forces with a US based group to buy tickets for the Mega Millions draw on Feb 15, 2008. This is the largest Mega Millions jackpot since the Dec 18, 2007 draw. This group has 1 share ($5) in the Regular GLC group and 2 shares ($2) in the Flex GLC group.
In addition, the following members bought additional individual shares.
Keith Ballantyne bought 1 share ($5) in the Regular group and 9 shares ($9) in the Flex group.
Ron Plomp bought 10 shares ($10) in the Flex group.
Mario Festival bought 1 share ($1) in the Flex group.
The GLC Regular group bought 80 tickets and did not win anything. The GLC Flex group bought 100 tickets and won $4 - two tickets matched the Mega Ball number. Each share in the Flex pool won $0.04. The jackpot rolled to $220 million US for the Feb 19 draw.
This is the end of this group. The amounts won with the extra shares added to this group will be rolled over to the other Mega Millions group (started Aug 2007) that is buying tickets for the next draw.
Normally I do not allow extra shares to be added to a temporary group such that the value of the original shares are diluted. An exception is made for the Mega Millions groups since we combine with the GLC groups and I have no control on how many shares there are in total for a given draw.
